My 1998 V70 has developed the famous Volvo front end clunk on the driver's side. I know from owning a 1986 200 that it is the upper strut mounts. I checked lower ball joints, tie rod ends and sway bar links and they are all still in good condition. Looking for parts, I noticed that the V70 has several parts. There is a strut mount and spring seat which looks like it mounts on the strut and sticks into the mount. Is this correct and do I need to replace both parts? Any advice before I remove the strut assemblies? I would like to have the repalcement parts on hand before starting this job. Thanks.
