Earlier in the summer, I lost all but the high speed in my 850 with manual climate control. I quickly identified it as the resistor pack, and bought a new genuine Volvo pack. It lasted a day before it too failed. I checked out the fan switch and wiring, could find no faults, and assumed the new one was defective off the shelf. The dealer swapped it, and all has been well for the last 6 weeks until yesterday, when again all speeds except high, quit.
Granted I've not had time to check anything but the fuse, but at this point I am assuming the resistor pack has failed again. When the blower was operating, the speeds seem normal, it doesn't sqeal or make noises, or do anything abnormal
Why would I keep blowing resistor packs? The fuse (31) never blows, and it is the correct amperage.
Ideas anyone?
