noisy spring seats / strut mounts 850 1996

I had new spring seats and struts put on the front end of my 850. The struts work great, but I get a lot of creaking on turns from the passenger side that is coming from the spring seat. A sort of rubber groan at sharp turns. Thought it was a CV boot at first, but no. The mount looks fine, just noisy, especially in cold weather. Is this an issue that others have experienced? Any ideas most appreciated.
