Hello,
My new-to-me '98 V70XC has been great so far. It's a dream in the snow and on the highway. Yesterday, however, I found a strange substance on the dipstick while checking the oil. It was a yellow gel/foam with the consistency of lithium grease & the taste of gasoline. It does not look like coolant foam, nor am I missing any coolant.
The weather has ranged from the low teens to the mid forties and back over the past couple weeks. The car had been driven a good amount yesterday, and left to sit for a couple of hours before checking the oil. State safety inspection was done yesterday at Sears...but they're usually pretty good about not playing with things (which is why we go there).
If it were one of three redblocks in the driveway (one is actually lying on the driveway), I would do an oil change and see if it reappears. That is the plan for now. Does anyone have an idea what this stuff could be?
Thanks,
-Nate
