Stuck rear seat on 2001 V70 V70-XC70

So I am now a V70 owner. After getting to 189K Miles on my 850, decided to get a newer car.

I ficed a few minor problems with it, but one remains: I can not fold down the backseat (backrest). The left side folds fine, but the right side (wider one) does not. It seems that the slider lever that you push back to unlock the seat does not catch something inside the lock. It moves, and that "red flag" pops up, but nothing happens. The problem is that I can't get to lock and check it out, since it has to be folded for the plastic shroud to be removed.

Also, the seat does not have any play in the lock (the narrow one does a little)

I know this is a tough one, but still, maybe anyone experienced this and knows how to unjam it?
