1999 S70 Electrical Issue? S70 1999

About three weeks ago my battery of seven years went completely dead and so I had it replaced at Sear's since it was a Sunday night and they were the only available store still open. Starting the day AFTER I had it installed it seemed to start fine, but then after another day had passed it would rev to 200 rpms and then just shut off. All of the lights would go on on the dash and after several tries it would start and run fine. I went back to Sear's and they checked the alternator, regulator and started and said there was no problem. When I went to leave it would not start again...they said to have it looked at at Volvo. Well, we all know what that costs and I had no time to even get it there due to the holidays and my work schedule and so I just put up with it taking longer to start from time to time. Well today I went to start it and it was completely dead and I had to have it towed back to Sear's since once again it was a Sunday. They replaced the battery with a larger one and said everything checked out. But when I went to leave the radio was dead and even the code message was not coming up, the car started there but after making a quick stop at the store it did what it was doing before AND the radio is now dead. Any suggestions as to what the problem may be? I called a friend who is a mechanic and I need to get it in somehow this week to be checked, but I am wondering why the radio would be dead now too. Sear's offered to cover the cost of the radio repair since they obviously screwed something up, but what? I replaced the fuse and it still doesn't work, the alarm light does not even flash. Any help would be appreciated since I would like to have some idea before going to the garage. Thank you in adavance.
