Right front axle or bearing noise V70-XC70 1998

I just replaced both front axles and did not replace the bearings. In the last few weeks a whirring sound has developed only after driving for 15 min. and then only with floored pedal acceleration. Are there any suggestions as to whether it is the new axle or the old bearing? Something else?
