New noises...help! 1995 850 850 1995

1995 850 wagon- non-turbo:
40mph and over there is a new noise, sounds like it is behind the instrument cluster. Sounds like bees or locusts (trying to give you an idea). Not a squeak...buzzing.
If it were my old cars, I would say that the speedometer cable was acting up.
I haven't a clue where to start.
I did do this: Over 40-mph, I shut off the engine, let the rpms drop...same sound. Thus it isn't in the engine / radio/ electrical...It must be mechanical.
And it really sounds like it is behind the gauges. LOUD!
