Odometer Repair Underway 850 1993

Hello again lads. A couple years ago, I had to replace the small 15 tooth odometer gear. Now the blue 12 tooth gear has crumbled.

Anyhow, I have the part on order, and I was wondering if it's OK to put the instrument cluster back in the dash and drive with the odometer removed for a couple days?
