Burning Oil V70-XC70 2000

I have a 20000xc that has 210,000 kms and it is starting to burn a litre of oil in about 400 kms.
It appears to run ok.
The engine light seems to be on more often than it used to be.
Would this be a faulty turbo causing the problem or engine rings etc.
Any info would be helpful.
I am planning on driving it as is unless it causes great problems down the road.
