To further my previous post on April 8. My car died a number of times on my way home with what appreared to be the same symptom (the fuel pump relay should be here today and I will install it). I ended up having to roll into my driveway and then the check engine light went on. Used the scanner and had a number of codes:
too lean, mutiple misfires, 3 out of the 5 cylinders were not firing.
Also smoke was coming from the exhaust that smelled like sulphur. I put the car in the garage and it sat until yesterday evening when my mechanic looked at it. It started right up. The exhausat cleared out and it ran like a charm with no problems what so ever. He is totally in the dark as to what the problem could be. He said the car ran like nothing ever happened to it.
Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong with it? Why did the cylinders misfire and the exhaust smell like sulphur?
