Ball Joint replacement short cuts 850 1996

My local Volvo place charged 45$ to diagnose the shaking in my front end.
Ball Joints were the problem.

Anybody have any words of wisdom, short cuts special tricks techneques or advice for someone who hasn't previously done this to anything with FWD.
