Anyone have this?

Is this a one time payment thing, or an ongoing one? I noticed in my 03 xc70 that a previous owner must have at one time had this (expiry was Dec 2009!). I called the 1 800 # and they said it had been canceled. If it IS a one time payment, it should be transferable, no? Obviously if they had to keep making payments, then it would be canceled and that's that. But otherwise.. I'm now trying to get in touch with someone at the local dealer, which is where the car was originally sold. That person is out today, so I thought I'd get some info from owners in the meantime.
