My daughter lives 3,000 miles away, so I can't help her with this.
Last night she locked herself out of her 2007 S60 (bought new). She was talking to me on her Blackberry while getting out to gas up, and somehow she left her key fob remote control gizmo in the car and locked the door behind her! Luckily she was able to call a locksmith -- but before she moved away, and used one of our family 240s, I always made sure she had two keys: one on a ring to be used regularly, and another tucked into her pocketbook as a spare; same with my wife; and even I always keep a second spare key on my belt key ring. The thing is, we've never needed the spare.
But back to my daughter: even though her car (which she bought out there in L.A.-land) has the remote control device, didn't her owner's package include a small metal door key, just to be used as an Emergency access to open a locked door? Where would she find it in among the stuff she got?
So, does anyone know if such a key is included when you buy one of these new cars?
I'd like to tell her that she should look for it, and perhaps where, but first I'd like to know if she ever got it. Thanks, all.
