Well,

Just wanted to post back that the codes have not come back yet. It's been about 20 days now.

What I ended up doing in the end was change the plugs and tighten the timing belt tensioner. There has been a large increase in power and smoothness too.

So here's hoping it's good for a while :)

Thanks KlausC, I believe you exactly diagnosed this as my probable cause to fix.
