VisionPlus Lighting vs HID 850 1997

After reading all the articles in the December archives to date, I'm still a little confused. Is there a real difference between installing E-code lenses in your car along with VisionPlus bulbs from VolvoSpeed, and laying out $600 to VolvoSpeed for a true HID set of lights? I had a very nasty experience in Wyoming at night of threading my way through a herd of deer on the freeway at 65, overdriving my lights, and I would not like to have that happen again. $600 is a lot to lay out for HID. How close does VisionPlus and e-code beams come to this? I understand, to optimize your HID system, you should have e-code lenses as well. Advice, please. Dick
