Seat Heater 850 1996

I have read several messages recently concerning seat heaters that are not working. I have a driver's side heat seater that works occasionally.

It clearly works within a couple of minutes of turning on the switch and both the seat and the seat back get quite warm. Shortly after that it's like I have turned off the heater even though the light is still on.

I have checked under the seat and the wires are attached to the thermostat and the thermostat seems to be positioned properly.

Has anyone on the board had this experience and if so, what did you do to correct the problem? Thanks, Fred.
