back up light switch location 850

My backup lights have never worked on our 94 850 wagon with an auto trans. Bulbs work, fuse seems fine, so now I suspect the switch. However, I'm not sure where it is located. Took the console apart around the shift lever and don't think I saw it there. I see a couple of impossible to get to two wire devices deep down in the trans area, and am hoping none of those is the switch... Or is there something more logical to suspect than the switch that I have overlooked?
