elbow that plugs into the air filter housing S70 1998

From the top rear of the air filter housing there are 2 lines with elbows that plug into the housing. The top elbow is cracked on my car. What is this part and could it be responsible for my lambda light being on?

I have heard there is a common-failing vacuum elbow is there a photo of its location anywhere?
