I'm looking at a '98XC in great condition with 48k and an extended warranty till 100k, it's about 4500 under book and seems to fit my needs pretty well.

That being said, I came upon this board and it appears that the XC is a time bomb.

Can someone give a "simple" description of the AWD problems encountered and an over-all opinion of the car? Thanks.
