OEM Alarm V70-XC70 1998

I have just bought a 1998 V70 GLT. The manual makes reference to a visual alarm and an audible alarm. Upon using the panic button on the remote the front and rear lights flash. Obviously this is the visual alarm. Is there a way to switch between visual and audible alarm signals?
