Heater air flow not from two middle vents?

Hi all. Do you have this heater air flow condition? I have a 2000 S70. When the auto climate control is set at auto and when it is cold enough for the heater to come on, the hot air will only come through the left driver side) and the right (passenger side) vents. Cool air comes through the two middle vents. Has anyone ever experienced this? Is this normal? Thanks again.
