Radio replaced...for the lights... S40-V40 '00

I had 2 of 6 led/lights on my radio/pre-sets burnt out...went to the dealer who promptly pulled out the radio, put in a new one and sent me on my way. They said the lights cannot be replaced only the radio...which leads me to ask what happens when the warranty expires??????? For now, I must turn the dimmer switch for all day time driving....any options/comments. Still trying to figure out how to post my engine pics...royal pain......Bill
