Should I buy a V40? S40-V40 2002

Hello,

I was considering buying a V40, and as I intend to keep the car a long time, reliabiity is important. I have only owned VWs and have very limited knowlege of volvos. My friends with volvos love their cars, but they have older models. After reading about problems here and other web sites, I am no longer sure about the v40.

What do members think? Are v40s good, reliable cars; would you recommend them ?
