2000 V70 R AWD gentle whine at low speeds while warming up. Transmission?

Traded this 277,000 KM vehicle recebtky for a 2005 Magic Blue V70 2.5T beige leather. Amazed at how much improved seats are, how stiff the body structure is
( standard equipment strut brace / top mount for engine ) and how quiet and refined the ride is ( 16" wheels big enough for the cratered roads of Toronto )

Dropped into dealer recently and met two mechanics. Told them about V70 r being traded, and one commented he had driven it. He smiled & said think it needs a new transmission!

Hah! Listening to the mechanisms instead of the radio paid off!

Hopefully the Aisin Warner 5-speed auto has developed in the intervening years.
