Flushing the AC system 850 1994

I've been having things go wrong with the AC system ever since I replaced the head gasket on the 850 wagon. First I replaced the accumulator, evacuated the system, charged the system with R134 and oil. The AC didn't work at all the evaporator was toast according to past write ups. The evaporator isn't leaking so why can't it be flushed along with the rest of the system.
As I was trying to evaluate the problem, the compressor seized and stalled the engine. Now I found a good compressor, evaporator, and accumulator on E-Bay I will attempt to purge the condenser and all the lines with a series of flushes.
First I will pump lacquer thinner through everything except the compressor and accumulator. Then pump alcohol through the system. Then pump a inert gas such as nitrogen through but I only have argon which should be OK. Then assemble all the parts and pull a vacuum and recharge. This is my plan, if any one has anything to offer it would be greatly appreciated.
