SUNROOF QUESTION 850 1995

Left my sunroof open (tilted not glass retracted) overnight and this morning an odd tHing happened. When I closed it down it was fine but when I tried retracting the glass back into the roof body it would not move. It made some funny sounds like it was trying to move but would not. I have never lubricated the rails or any moving part since owning this car for 8 years. Now a day later it moves back within the roof. If I have to lubricate the rails or working parts, how do you get access and what type of lubricant is best?
