Why do the bulbs in the vanity mirror keep burning out? V70-XC70 1999

Hello All,

I have a 1999 XC. I have replaced the sun visor (driver's side) 3 times on this car. Each time it was due to the fact the two bulbs that light up when you open the vanity mirror which is built in the sun visor burned out or stopped working. I tried to pop out the old bulbs and replace them with new ones. But I couldn't get the lens that covers the bulbs to open without breaking it.

Has anyone else had this problem? Any solutions to it? Also, does anyone know of a website that would provide instructions on how to remove the sun visor? I know the wire that powers the vanity light runs down the "A" column, but I don't know how to remove that panel cover without breaking it.

Thanks to all who reply.

Hugh
