An Expression of thanks - Fixing the vanity lights on the driver's side sun visor V70-XC70 1999

Hello All,

About 2 weeks ago, I posted a query about a problem I was having with the vanity lights in the driver's side sun visor. They just stopped working. I had replaced the visor 3 times, because I couldn't pop off the lens cover, without destroying it.

Several members of the BB community responded by saying I should pop off the plastic cover on the "A" pillar/column where the electrical cord that powers the lights runs down. I was reluctant to remove the panel for fear I would crack it. Well, several of you said "not to worry" it won't break. You were right. I got the cover off. I found that a part of the cord was being crimped by the edge of the cover when it was snapped into place. I also checked to make sure were the cord plugged in at the base was secure. The vanity lights still "cut in and out". So I guess there may be a break in the cord.

I may have to live with this, becaue I'm reluctant to buy a 4th visor, but I do take satisfaction in that I was able to get the panel off without breaking it. so thanks to all for your advice and encouragement.

Hugh
