Engine operating temperature 850 1995

My recently purchased 850 wagon sometimes warms up to the mid-point of the gauge, some times it runs about two-thirds of the gauge.

If the temperature gauge is at mid-point, a drive at highway speeds brings it down to two-thirds.

Anyone have any experience with this?

The four 740s that we have owned always ran at mid gauge.
