Fuel Pump Relay Quick Question!

Howdy Bricksters,
Real quick question! So the fuel pump relay, it should click on for the first few seconds when you click the key on, then click off, ok good. Then when the motor starts and is running, it should remain energized correct? It should not click on and off? Cause after all, it's not regulating anything, riiiiight?
