Unusual Starting Behavior 850 1996R

Last night I was leaving work and hopped in my R to leave work.

I put the key in the ignition and fired her up. Car started just fine.

Then I went to switch on my headlights and found that when I put the dial

in the "ON" position, my lights did not come on and my dash lights

did not light up. The parking lights did come on when the switch was in the "PARKING LIGHT ONLY" position. I then tried to shift out of PARK, but couldn't move the shifter (BY-Pass button DID work). After about 10 seconds of this, the lights came on and the car chimed like it does when you first start it. Everything was fine after this.

Any ideas about this problem?
