Hi all,
I am having a problem with my air vents; when I set it to "feet level" ie.
the air should be coming at the feet, there is very little air coming out, it comes out at the windshield vents instead. I brought the car to dealer and they said that a plastic rod (located behind and to the left of the glove box that controls the "flaps" that redirects the air to the feet) is cracked/broken thefore not able to control the flaps. Changing the part would cost $500 ( parts and labor ) because you need to take apart the dash and the AC system to get to it.
Does this sound right to you ?
They proposed a "temp fix" also : instead of changing the rod - "reinforce" the rod by "crazy glueing" another steel tube on top of it, like putting a cast on a broken arm. This requires 2 hours of labor. Do you think this "patch" will last ?
Winter's coming and having no heat on your feet can be brutal. Your advice would be greatly appreciated
Thanks in advance,
Lee
