Can anybody tell me how fast seat heaters are supposed to warm up? A friend of mine who drives a 96 850 turbo wagon, says after 90 seconds his rear is toasty warm. Wish I could say the same for my 97 850 GLT. If I'm driving slow (like to work in traffic and twisty road)the seat takes four or five minutes before you can feel anything. It's only when I get out on the highway and rev the engine up that I start to really feel the seat warming up. Did Volvo put a different relay in the 97 because of all those earlier complaints about seat heating elements burning out when people switched on the seats and forgot to sit in them, or do I have a weak relay or part of the seat element not working? This is a US model car imported to Norway, and I would really like to have a toasty warm rear end after 90 seconds of driving like my friend. I'm thinking of installing heating pads in the rear seats, but if they work like the front seat ones, it won't be much of an improvement. What might be wrong or what may Volvo have done to quell criticism about heating elements burning out, would be deeply appreciated. Dick
