Ok, I will admit I like the stereo, but haven't been entirely happy to date. I guess I was expecting a lot more out of it for the money. According to my dealer, I had a choice of two V70R's in the USA when I purchased it. That was back in November, 1999. The one I got (local) or one in Minnesota. I opted for the local one as this was partially an impulse buy (I needed more room and liked the 'R' option). So, this thing came with the upgraded stereo, which I ended up paying for of course. Now, on to my remark/question.
The SC-901 has the Dolby Pro Logic sound stuff in it. I've only heard the Pro Logic ONCE in the past year kick in. I've tried some of my DTS CD's that I listen to at home and they only come across as static, but I have yet to find Pro Logic encoded audio CDs. The one time I heard the Pro Logic was on NPR. They were playing a clip from a movie. The clip was still encoded in Pro Logic. Wow! That is amazing to hear. I'm tempted to start going to drive-in theatres in hopes that they broadcast over the radio in Pro Logic. :-)
Anyone else out there with the SC-901 (C70, V70, S70, 80's too?) that has more experience with this thing than me? If I can't get the Pro Logic to work I'm probably going to end up ripping out the Volvo-heritage stereo and speakers and start from scratch.
Thanks in advance for any guidance or information...
Bill
