V40 with crack in tailgate S40-V40 2000

This weekend I discovered that there are three vertical cracks in the black plastic around the tailgate latch release button). Anyone else had this problem? Didn't run into anything. Nothing fell on the tailgate no accidents. Have not taken it in yet. I assume its a warantee issue.
