TRACS switch on V70R AWD V70-XC70 00

In the 2000-model of the V70R AWD there is no switch to turn of the TRACS, do anyone know the reason behind this? If this is a 'safety' decision from Volvo, and no other technical reasons - I'm going to get this installed. The winter is coming up in norway, and with 265hp and AWD - I'm going to enjoy it :)
