Does anyone know if the power steering lines (ie: pressure line from pump to rack, return line from rack to pump) can be 'built' either DIY-style or by a hydraulics shop?
On my car the sharp corner in the lines where they connect in to the rack are corroded and appear to be seeping power steering fluid right out through the wall of the line.
I see the pictures of the lines on FCP:

But even at FCP's price these seem expensive.
I can see the lines don't look that complicated, but I'm not familiar with that style of flare-nut connection.
Can anyone shed any light on what type of connectors those are and whether it's possible to build a line like this at home? Or have a hydraulics shop make one?
And any thoughts on whether it would be less expensive to have them made vs buying from FCP would be appreciated too.
