PCV hoses 850 1996

Hey, I was wondering if anyone had any idea of if I could use just vacuum hoses rather than buying the specialty hoses. I got the old ones on the car, and I got most of a set from a pick-n-pull but I haven't really investigated them for holes. I figure I'll give them a good once over and hope to find no holes. If I find something i'd rather not have to spend 50 on the curved one that goes from the head to the separator, or many of the others. Can't I just put it on and clamp it down?
