Exhaust valves V70-XC70 1998

Two weeks ago my wife and I set off for a short drive from Central Florida to Savannah,GA. in my wife's V70. Wehad gone about thirty miles, and I had just made the comment the "She's running nicely, today!' when the "Check Engine" light came on!Luckily we were able to get off "95" and a couple of miles later found a repair shop. They checked to codes and No.1 cylinder showed a problem!
We ended up having th car towed back home, rented an SUV and continued on our vacation!

The result was all the exhaustr valves for No.1 damaged, and eventually replaced all exhaust valves, cam followers, fuel injector for No.1 cylinder, etc., etc.!

The one thing we were told that this problem with No.1 cyclinder was a common problem with this yaer and model, and we would be interested to hear any comments from other members of this website.
