It has been awhile since I stalked the BrickBoard, but I am back. Just acquired a 2004 XC70, and am getting used to it quirks. This is my first AWD car, and only second one with the engine turned side ways. All my other cars have had RWD with the engine mounted straight. Oh Well.
I folded down the rear seats in my XC70, and can't one of the seat sections to come all the way back up. The seatbelt (which retracted when folding down to take up the slack) will not release. I get the seat about 2/3 the way up, and the belt keeps it going any further. Since the belt ratchet is in the seat back, I have begun opening up the seat to see if I can release the ratchet. With the seat stuck down, I am now looking at the aluminum sheet that forms the seat back. Can't seem to get much further.
Am I overthinking this problem? Is there a simpler way to release the seatbelt? Any suggestions on how to releast the seat belt ratchet are greatly appreciated.
