Bad dealer experience V70-XC70 2000

I dropped my V70R off at the dealer for the 22,500 service. I had a laundry list of minor (stress that they were VERY minor) items to be looked at or acted on.

There was a rattle near the sunroof they say they fixed. Based on how they described the fix to me though, I think they fixed something I didn't ask for.

Because I was going to do the oil at a later date and get the tires rotated later as well, they said I didn't need the 22,500 service per se, but they looked at the other items.

The rattle was the only one that they fixed. The others were "operating within factory specs." That bothered me because based on the conversation I had when I dropped off the car I thought they were going to update my transmission software. Since they didn't see any error codes they didn't do this (even though they told me exactly what I had heard on the board - that the software updates were available). This bothered me a tad, but I wasn't going to fret over it at that point in time.

I have the enviro package and asked them to wash and put on a new coat of sealant per the contract. The last time I dropped my car off at the dealership they did this for me... they forgot to wash the bugs off the front! and sealed right over it. They fixed the problem to my satisfaction though. This time, when I did my walk-around, I saw the same waterspots that were on the car before I dropped it off from the rain earlier that week were still on the car...under the sealant. I called the service representative (not the supervisor) over to have a look. While he was walking over I saw that there was a scratch on my hood as well! That wasn't there before I dropped it off. :-( Now I was getting mad. I went looking for the salesman who sold me the car 11 months prior, but he had retired. I got my hands on the sales manager (who is brand new by the way). I showed him the waterspots and the scratchES (yes, plural now - I found more)! He was apologetic and was going to try to find a remedy to this situation. At this point the service representative came back and said that he would fix this by buffing the scratches out of the finish. We'll see how that works.

I've been treated very well by this dealer compared to my Audi service experiences lately, but still not as well as when I had a cheap ol' Nissan Altima. I'm not pleased at this point and just needed to vent. I'm going to leave the dealership name off of this but WILL update with a follow-up update with their name if they do not remedy this situation to my satisfaction.

The sales manager commented that the scratch looked like something caused by a dirty sponge. I concurred with this analysis.

I wasn't going to split hairs about the job they did on the interior but will point out how dirty the interior was still after they "washed" the car. Boy I'm having fun now.

I told the sales manager that I wanted the car in tip-top condition because I was planning on switching to something new. I didn't say that I had started this process prior to this recent experience, but in retrospect, I might have lead him to believe that this decision was related to how I have been treated. Ooops.
