Seats cloth vs. leather help decide V70-XC70 2001

I am in the process of negotiating a deal for a 2001 XC and thought I had all of my options planned for. But I’m currently having issues with the seat coverings cloth vs. leather.

I have three dogs and therefore decided on cloth, but upon investigating the cloth seats I found out that the seats are mainly vinyl with cloth inserts. Well first of all a $37K+ vehicle and all that vinyl!? Really. I would at least expect full cloth seats with vinyl sides and back. Now I have to investigate the leather seats, which puts the price up.

Has anyone come across this dilemma? Or are the cloth/vinyl seats VERY high quality or should I just bite the bullet and go with leather?

I know there have been prior threads on this subject but I’d like to hear more about the quality of the cloth/vinyl seats.
