Pitted surface on radiator hose connection surface S70 1998

Son and I are changing all coolant hoses and oil coolant hoses (joy) on his turbo. The surface of the metal portion on driver side is pitted. He cleaned it up, but pits remain. Is there a reason to not use a sealant on the pipe as without help the hose will most likely weep. Thinking of using Permatex Aviation

Form-a-gasket, light coating only.
