Making Clear Side Markers?? 850 1996

I was wondering if it was possable to make the side markers on the Volvo 850 clear by removing the amber piece of plastic , however it is not as easy as I thought the plastic seems to be molded with a STRONG apoxy or super duper glue (I tried to melt it) I wondering if anyone know anything about removing this piece!
