drivers side door handle not working - any suggestions on removal, repair, replacement 850 1993

My driver side front door will not open from the outside. OPens from inside fine but not from outside. I have to fix it to pass state inspection.

I'm guessing it's in the "linkage" between handle and latch mechanism. I've worked on other but never on an 850. Door panel is removed and it looks TIGHT in there. Cut fingers and scraped knuckles.

Looks like I remove the handle via two Torx bolts on side.

Question once I loosen/remove handle what the "linkage" consist of? Wire, soft metal shafts?

Any suggestions as to what may be broken/loose/needs adjustmt?

Once I remove the handle I'm guessing a long day getting it back in correctly.

I don't really want to do this right now but I gotta. Any suggestions to make it easier will be GREATLY appreciated
