I have a '99 V70 AWD and just had the A/C charged up. Starts right up, runs great, but now after about 3 weeks, it's starting to smell like hay inside the car! You'd think I've been to the farm and taken home a few bales! This happened the last time I charged up the A/C, a couple of years ago. Any ideas? Could something be leaking and I'm breathing it in? (And perhaps that's why the A/C doesn't last more than one season?)
Second - since this is '99, I've been thinking about replacing it because of all the money I've spent on fixes. Would like to get a 2 or 3 year old turned in lease car with a 4-5 year warranty. Any opinions on the 2007 AWD V70? My husband doesn't want to get one with a V-8 engine, so I assume newer is no good. Is the '99 model prone to expensive repairs or was I just unlucky, and will I be faced with multiple problems when I get another? In comparison, my husband has a 2002 S60 and has had NOTHING wrong with it since he's owned it.
