Reflection/Accelerator Questions S80 2000

I have been driving an '87 240 wagon for 10 years and am considering buying

a Volvo S80 or V70 to replace it.I recently drove a 2000 S80,thought it was

a great car,but have two questions for S80 owners.I saw the front dashboard

defroster vents reflected in the windshield so clearly that I found it a

serious distraction ....like a clear horizontal line with vertical

interruptions like a railroad track . Was this an anomoly of driving

at dusk ? I sat in the new 2001 V70 in the dealer showroom and and saw a

similar relflection of the massive dash-top area. Is this complaint unique

and eccentric ? Do other makes of cars have this same dash reflection ? The

second question is regarding the accelerator . I am COMPLETELY car-tech

ignorant , but a sports car enthusiast friend of mine accompanied me for a

test drive of the S80 and complained that when he let his foot off the

accelerator , the tach gradually came down . He said that was very strange

and wanted a let off on the accelerator to immediately reduce the RPMs ( or

something to that effect ... sorry I'm not tech enough to explain ) . Is

this a characteristic of the S80 or did that car just need tweaking ?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts/comments. Richard
