Timing belt chage 850 1993

I got the 93 850GLT home by driving it after finding out that it was too low to go up on the dolly. What an experience! The front end is worn out and the driver's side seat back was laying in the back seat. Two hours of wishing that I had left it in the yard in South Carolina, and I was back home!

On the up side, the car is a one owner, and was originally purchased in Sweden, then shipped back here when the serviceman was transfered stateside. It sat for a good bit of the time he was in Iraq, but some of his family members really beat it up for the last few months. It has 134,400 original miles and looks nice. The interior leather is in pretty good shape with no tears, and(except for the seat back mentioned)everything is in order. Since the car has no maintenance records, I want to change the timing belt and idler before putting it back on the road. My question is how do you access the belt? It almost looks as though the engine has to be lifted clear of the bay for access. My books will be here next week, but I would like to get started if anyone has been through this on the 20 valve engine.

Regards,
