I have been getting a clunk on the floor under the rear passenger side seat for about a month. It has been getting really loud, and today I went under there to see whats up and it coming from the rear drive shaft coupler I have to assume. I didn't see anything glaringly obvious as to why it would be making the loud thump into the floor board. Would it be a u-joint inside the rubber? I dont know whats inside that boot? I have a sinking feeling that my AWD will be soon no longer......
I always knew the day would come when I had to face the reality of the 228,000+ miles on her(and I really enjoy pushing the turbo...). If this is the end of the road for the AWD, does anyone know of the proper way to make it FWD? Just remove the drive shaft?
